We are African Clean Energy. We are a rapidly growing B Corp enterprise focused on enabling decentralised access to clean energy for households in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. We are currently operating in Lesotho, Cambodia, and Uganda. Our mission is to eliminate the worst forms of poverty on a platform of clean energy and smartphone technology.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Operations Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for driving the implementation of multiple projects, new processes, and innovative technologies at a rapid pace. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and a passion for making a tangible impact in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily operations across multiple projects in various countries, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement and streamline new processes and technologies to enhance operational performance.
  • Coordinate with local teams in Lesotho, Cambodia, Kenya, and Uganda to ensure alignment with company goals and standards.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Lead, mentor, and support local operations teams to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and logistics to optimize project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team.

 Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the renewable energy sector or in emerging markets.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and leading diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management, BI software and tools (Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations as needed.
