Job Description

Adoption Manager

Are you passionate about creating positive change and improving access to clean energy? We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Adoptions Manager to join our team. The incumbent in the role will train and guide Adoptions Officers to conduct highly effective after-sales visits for all customers across ACE hubs.

At African Clean Energy, we are a rapidly growing B Corp enterprise focused on enabling decentralized access to clean energy for households in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. Our mission is to eliminate the worst forms of poverty through a platform of clean energy and smartphone technology. We provide clean energy solutions, including the ACE One, to households living on $2/day through an affordable microloan model.

The role we are currently recruiting for is Adoptions Manager. As we are starting to build and expand our business in Kenya, we are looking for a highly organized and results-driven Adoption Manager to train and guide Adoptions Officers to conduct highly effective after-sales visits for all customers across ACE hubs. By delegating and ensuring field teams are equipped with the right tools and messaging, the Adoptions Manager plays a key role in maintaining high stove syncing rates, strong repayment performance, and driving high volumes of fuel sales. This role ensures consistent, impactful post-sale engagement that reinforces long-term customer behavior and satisfaction for the three office locations in Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale.

At African Clean Energy, you will:

  • Train, manage, and support Adoptions Officers to ensure consistent, high-quality after-sales visits across all hubs.
  • Provide clear direction and ongoing coaching to drive performance in syncing, repayments, and fuel adoption.
  • Ensure all Adoptions Officers share a strong understanding of what defines a “good customer” and how to reinforce those behaviors in the field.
  • Establish clear standards for each visit stage (onboarding, check-ins, recovery) and monitor execution across all hubs.
  • Track fuel adoption behavior and integrate results into officer performance monitoring.
  • Use syncing data to validate stove usage and identify follow-up priorities.
  • Direct Adoptions Officers to conduct minor maintenance, arrears follow-up, and late-payer visits as needed.
  • Support repayment efforts in collaboration with the Call Center and CF team, using field visits to reinforce loan responsibilities.

We’d really like to hear from you if you have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
    • 2–4 years experience in team management, preferably in customer service or field operations
    • Strong understanding of customer engagement, data usage, and behavior change
    • Ability to coordinate multifunctional teams across both digital and offline environments
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Comfort with reporting, tracking systems, and field monitoring
    • Fluency in English and Kiswahili for effective customer communication.
