On the 27th of August , we opened its first energy shop in Butha-Buthe, Lesotho. The opening is part of a bigger, 4-year project in collaboration with the European Union, aiming to create more access to clean energy in rural, off-grid areas of Lesotho.

This marks an important milestone for us, as we have had a permanent presence in Maseru for 4 years, but to distribute in Butha-Buthe we relied mostly on our mobile sales agents. Having a physical shop in Butha-Buthe means that we can become more active in the northern part of the country, not only to create more awareness about the ACE 1 and its benefits, but also to deliver faster maintenance services to users in the region.

For now, the shop sells exclusively ACE 1s, and in the future it will diversify to sell additional energy products such as solar accessories and clean biofuels.

In the next months, we will open additional energy shops, most likely in Semonkong and Mafeteng. By the end of 2021, ACE will have 25 energy points all over the country, creating the most comprehensive network of energy services for rural customers in the country.

The official opening of the shop was a very exciting day with many people present, such as EU ambassador Dr. Christian Manahl, the area chief Morena Tohlang, and the EU Program Manager Mr. Koena.

In attendance was also ‘Mathakane Mokone, the winner of the latest ACE Impact Reward. This is an initiative created by our company to reward our customers’ impact on the environment, health and other social causes. As a ‘thank you’, ACE will pay the 2019’s school fee for Ms. Mokone’s daughter.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to our amazing team who worked so hard to make this happen!
